Congrats to Jeff Corbett for unveiling RateSpeed.com today. Jeff has done more than most at focusing industry attention on an archaic term that consumers will no doubt never have heard of called ‘Yield Spread Premium‘. It is a term you should become familiar with, even if you don’t have a mortgage.
Jeff has been fanatical about the transparent disclosure of the YSP and mortgage broker compensation. A powerful post that captured my attention was this one, back in 2006. He has also been just as dedicated to giving consumers unfetted access to wholesale mortgage rates so that they can become more educated around pricing and get a better deal.
