Interesting nugget from the WSJ:
“Zagat Survey LLC, the influential pocket-sized burgundy guide that uses costumer reviews to rate everything from Chinese food restaurants to day spas, said it is exploring a possible sale.
The company has hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc. as their financial adviser, and is considering either a sale or possible partnerships.”
There is sufficient excitement about ‘user created content’ that the master of the oldest example may be able to get a great price in this market.
I think that it is only time before the world realizes once again that to make money in restaurant media via an ad-supported model is next to impossible.
