New York Times Print Revenue
Scott Karp, a man after my own writing heart, deconstructed the New York Times latest revenue numbers to find that when you clean out the numbers, print declined by around 15% year over year.
The engine - classifieds and retail advertising - is being ripped out of print as the Internet directly cannibalizes classifieds and retail dollars are moving to places like search and the industry as a whole is consolidating leaving less advertisers as prospects.
