Sunnyvale, California is a city of 136,310 residents in Santa Clara county. It is one of the largest cities in the Silicon Valley, just outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. The home value index for the city, as of May of 2011, was $732,500. This is down 3.1 percent from the previous year, nearing the areas five year low. The market reached its peak in May of 2008 when the home value index was $811,000. The five-year low occurred in May of 2009, when the home value index was only $710,000.
