Like many Real Estate Professionals, I came into real estate from another career. After thirty-five years in health care as a registered nurse, nurse manager, community health specialist, entrepreneur, lobbyist, administrator and quality systems specialist/marketer, I chose my next career to be my passion. I found that what I liked to do best...explore and drive around neighborhoods, hunt for houses and explore them as they are being built, stop in the nearest open house on a Saturday or Sunday, pour over the real estate listings in the newspaper... was FUN !!

All jobs should be fun, so I thought I should add buying and selling to that passion and make my job FUN.  So I did. My husband and I had only been married for three years, we bought and sold in that time 4 homes and three investment properties. And that was before I was a REALTOR!

My past experience provided me a broad base and knowledge to launch a career in the real estate industry.

Dealing with emotions, social concerns, finances, health issues, family dynamics, personal needs and wants are all integral to a holistic approach to taking care of people as a nurse. These learned transferable skills are what I now bring to every real estate relationship.

I lived for two years on Anastasia Island in the Marsh Creek Country Club subdivision. And currently live across from the Ocean in the SouthBeach Subdivision just south of Ponte Vedra and just north of St Augustine. A perfect location and only 45 minutes to Jacksonville airport for any escape necessary.

As a team member of Watson Realty Corp, I weekly preview 8-10 new properties to keep up to date with our inventory of homes.  Daily I review each new property that comes on the market, especially in my specialty area of Ocean Front, Intracoastal and Beach Area homes through the MLS system.  I am also familiar with many of the wonderful gated communities for golf and tennis in and around Ponte Vedra, Jacksonville and St. Augustine.

I am happily married to Dan. He is happily retired! Dan loves to sail his 38 Ft Hunter. He has been a sailor since he was 10 years old and has taught me to be a good "deck ape".  We are members of the St. Augustine Yacht Club and enjoy entering the sailing races. I am the current membership chair - so I can get you involved too!  We have a dog, Cinnamon, a chocolate Lab.  I still work on an as needed basis in the operating room as a Registered Nurse in Flagler Hospital in the evenings to maintain my skills and license.  I am a member of the St. Augustine Rotary and St. Anastasia Catholic Church.

I have two grown sons. Matthew is newly married to a beautiful young lady, Dayna. He has just assumed a position as an air traffic controller with the FAA in Atlanta.  Matthew is also a USPTA Tennis Pro but has hung up his racquet for a while to pursue his career.  Dayna is a marketing specialist for a company marketing AT&T products and services.

My son, Peter, is a new graduate (June 2008) from the School of Architecture at THE Ohio State University. He is very much the bachelor! Peter sees his future very clearly and is seeking a position to best meet his skills and dreams. He is also a fantastic bass guitarist and wants to start a rock n roll band.  

Dan and I relocated to St. Augustine from the Midwest (Ohio/Indiana). I was born in Trenton, New Jersey, grew up in Larchmont, New York with my two brothers, Kevin and Jim Hackett.  I spent summers as a child in Rumson, NJ and in Forest Hills/Breezy Point, NY. I received my BS from SUNY at Buffalo, NY and my MS from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. I have lived in Manhattan, Albany, NY, Greenwich and Redding,  CT, and raised my children in Columbus, Ohio. I lived for one year in Fort Wayne, IN before smartly moving to Florida!
