There's a History Behind Susan's Service
Quiet, friendly and family-oriented, Bloomington has much to offer. No wonder so many people choose it as their lifelong home. When you need to buy or sell a house, Susan Graves has much to offer you as well. A lifelong resident whose family has resided here for generations, Susan is a real estate professional who has successfully coupled her hometown knowledge and years of experience. What that means to you is a smooth worry-free experience. Taking care of the community and its residents is a family tradition for Susan.
Susan Graves Is Carrying On The Family Tradition
When Susan Graves was a child, her favorite day of the week was Sunday. Her fondest memories are of the times her family would travel over to her grandparents' home for Sunday dinner. Her "Granny" would make one of her homemade pies and whip up a full-course meal that would fill everyone up for days.
The house was always full of uncles, aunts and cousins because the roots of the Graves family ran deep in Bloomington. Susan remembers sitting with her grandparents and listening to their stories about the early days in Monroe County. Here, people always worked hard and looked out for the neighbors. The Graves family passed on this tradition from generation to generation, creating a history of neighborly spirit and high work standards. For as long as Susan can remember, hard work was no stranger to her family.
It was this family trait that inspired Susan to begin selling extra garden vegetables in Highland Village when she was just three years old. She would go door-to-door selling vegetables and taking orders from a growing list of customers. Today she will occasionally drop an assortment of garden "veggies" to some of her former vegetable customers as a token of friendship. Susan delivered papers in elementary school, worked in the Dairy Queen in high school and began a promising career in retail while a student at Indiana University.
It was Susan's diligent work ethic and extra efforts that caught the attention of management. They encouraged her to take a position to train employees on the new computer system. The company flew her to Detroit for an interview and hired her on the spot. "I will never forget that day," says Susan. "I had never flown on a plane in my life. It was quite a day!"
There's No Place Like Home
That first plane ride was the beginning of many, many more. Susan flew all over the nation, training employees at the local stores and was basically living out of a suitcase. Whenever she had some time off, she'd immediately head back to Bloomington and her family. Seeing nearly every part of the United States confirmed Susan's belief that Bloomington was an exceptional place to live. She now knew what she wated to do: share her experience as a lifetime Bloomington resident and help others buy homes, be it a first-home, a home for their golden years or a "dream" home to achieve their dreams.
It is Susan's longtime residency and love of Bloomington that has made her such a successful Realtor. She knows this area as only a native could. Her family's work ethic has been put to good use in her real estate career where Susan never relaxes until her clients are satisfied. This is one of your family's largest investments - it's the roof over your head. Her goal is to achieve win/win situations by finding you the right house or selling your home for a top price. Her extra efforts have earned Susan a long list of loyal clients and friends. She is pictured here with her professional assistant, Kathy Stallsmith.
